Many would-be dog parents choose the option of adopting dogs from abroad. A Golden Retriever that a charity saved from Afghanistan after the Taliban took power is now being prepared to be adopted by someone.
On September 8, Ade Parsley of Stamford, England, will adopt Golden Retriever Soldier. Including funds from GoFundMe, he raised almost £8,000 to bring his new furry friend to the nation.

Leaving Afghanistan with the animals
In reaction to the political unrest, efforts were made to get animals out of Afghanistan last year, but after evacuation aircraft ceased transporting animals, charity workers were instructed to release 130 dogs at Kabul Airport, including Soldier.
In order to express how much Soldier’s story had affected him, Parsley said, “I just fell so completely in love with him.”
“I felt so bad for him,” he added, “and I knew that I truly wanted to give him a loving home. He has experienced a lot.

When a Russian journalist saw Soldier at the airport, she got in touch with the Charlotte Maxwell-Jones-founded Kabul Small Animal Rescue Centre, which was able to save Soldier. Soldier is currently in Vancouver getting ready to cross the Atlantic and go to the UK.
The Golden Retriever caught Parsley’s attention on social media first. Soldier is one of the fortunate ones, according to Parsley, as only 50 of the 130 dogs have survived everything he has experienced and witnessed.
Dog ownership was outlawed in Afghanistan during the Taliban’s prior rule there. This has caused anxiety for dog owners across the nation.
Adopting The Dog
Whether you’re adopting a dog from across the country or the city, there are several things to consider. Whether you adopt a puppy or an adult dog, it will cost money. Additionally, you’ll need to confirm that everyone in the family is on the same page.

Parsley said on his GoFundMe page that “shipping an animal to the UK can be pricey.” The “cost of a ticket, blood tests, vaccines, customs fees, customs agents to support in the UK, and relocation expenses” would be covered by his financial needs.
