After being stuck inside an automobile that overturned into a canal for nearly 20 minutes, the dog was rescued.
The driver of the convertible sports car was out of the vehicle when Crawford Township Volunteer Fire Department arrived, but the owner’s dog was still missing.
They overturned the car to get inside after hearing a whimpering sound and discovered the puppy under the dash on the floorboard, where there was an air pocket. The dog was unharmed, according to officials.
The accident is being investigated by the North Carolina Highway Patrol, and the driver has been brought to a detention center, according to the agency.
