The Lagotto Romagnolo is an Italian breed of dog that was first used as a water retriever in medieval times. It’s name literally translates to “lake dog from Romagna” which makes perfect sense considering these dogs were originally bred to help hunt waterfowl through the marshes and wetlands of the Delta del Po region in Italy.

These dogs have thick curly coats and luxurious facial furnishings which make them look like cuddly toys but don’t be fooled – they are tough little dogs with strong senses of smell and agility which make them excellent truffle hunters today! They also make great family pets because they are intelligent and friendly with people they know well. If you’re looking for an unusual breed that can do more than just look cute, then you should definitely consider getting a Lagotto Romagnolo!
