Bedlington Terriers are a unique breed of small dog originating from the mining town of Bedlington, Northumberland in North East England. They are easily recognizable by their crisp, curly coat; arched back; tasseled ears; scimitar-shaped tail; and fleecy, pear-shaped head. Despite their soft lamb-ish look, they were originally bred to hunt vermin like weasels and polecats.
Today, Bedlingtons make excellent companions and can excel in the show ring. They are playful, cheerful, and affectionate with children and strangers alike. However, they do have potential for animal aggression so it is important to socialize them early on.
Bedlington Terriers require regular grooming to keep their coats looking healthy and free of tangles. They also need plenty of exercise to stay fit and happy – long walks or runs are ideal for this breed!
If you’re looking for a unique companion that will bring lots of energy into your home, then the Bedlington Terrier might be the perfect fit for you! With proper care and training they can make wonderful lifelong friends.
