Elle Nailga was concerned that her dog, Bella, might be feeling lonely when she began working more than usual. They adopted a small pug puppy named Baguette because she felt it would be fun to have a companion nearby.
When Bella first met Baguette, she was excited, and they hit it off right away. However, Bella soon came to the conclusion that Baguette had much more energy than she did and didn’t always know when to stop playing.
Bella then came up with an idea.
Bella was having difficulty getting on and off the couch, and she was also occasionally bumping into things, Nailga noticed. Bella didn’t appear to be hurt or in any other danger, so even though she thought it was strange, she didn’t give it much thought. Then, things got worse.
Nailga told The Dodo, “I woke Bella and Baguette up one morning to play fetch. Bella wasn’t interested in pursuing the toy after I threw it. Bella was just sitting there starring at me. I thought maybe it was only because Baguette took it first, so I held Baguette to remain and threw it. She didn’t even attempt to follow the toy’s lead.
She didn’t blink when I feigned to jab her in the eye. At that point, I began to worry greatly and believed that her eyes were probably not functioning properly.
Bella was diagnosed with acute blindness by the veterinarian after Nailga hurried her there. The veterinarian advised Nailga to take Bella as soon as possible to visit an ophthalmologist. She hurriedly scheduled an appointment out of panic, but the outcomes were undoubtedly not what she had anticipated.
Nailga stated, “The experts informed me that they performed a maze test with the lights on and off in addition to a few other tests.” “Because Bella managed to navigate the maze without running into any of the obstacles, it was thought that she might not be completely blind. They deemed her actions to be quite “inconsistent.”
Bella wasn’t actually blind, as the ophthalmologist informed Nailga over the phone after doing more tests.
They discovered that she was attempting to avoid and ignore Baguette. “They realized that she was trying to avoid and ignore Baguette,” Nailga said. “He indicated that her eyes worked completely great. He asked me if there were any changes at home or her lifestyle, because this may be a behavioral issue.”
Bella pretended to be blind in order to avoid having to play with the new puppy since it appears that she had decided she wanted a vacation from her.
Since then, Bella’s mother has taken great care to ensure that she has time and space to herself, away from the boisterous puppy. Bella has become much more at ease with her new tiny sister, Baguette is also learning how to set stronger limits.
The sisters may still need some time to properly adapt to one another’s methods, but for the time being, things are under control enough that Bella should no longer feel the need to act blind again.
