Here are ten videos of shelter dogs learning they have found a forever home because you need a break from whatever it is you’re doing at the moment.
The Wayne County Humane Society in Ohio’s adoption coordinator, our friend Joe Kay, is the source of the TikToks.
His characteristic puppy videos are probably familiar to you: the camera follows an orange “hold” card as Kay informs the animated, tail-wagging puppies that they have been adopted.
As Kay has previously stated, it is hard to tell whether the dogs, many of which have been rescued from puppy mills or euthanasia. Whatever the situation is, they will certainly enjoy seeing the cards and hearing Kay’s suckling voice.
Last fall, Kay told us, “If you wait, you can get the dog of your dreams, and it can be a rescue dog, and it can come from a shelter. You don’t have to pay thousands and thousands of dollars.”

In the humane society’s rows of cages in April, 7-month-old mountain cur Harvey, a “sweetheart,” was the only dog still present. Of course, Harvey’s new family had placed him on hold a day after Kay revealed that he was the only dog left. Harvey was so happy to see his new father, as you can see.

After arriving at the humane society from a shelter in the south, Nora was adopted in May. She was probably shot with a BB pistol since she was so terrified of people. She now has a caring family.
