The Lancashire Heeler is a small, stocky breed of dog that has been used as a working dog on farms in the Lancashire area for hundreds of years. They are alert and friendly with those they know, but may be wary of strangers. These intelligent dogs are quick to learn new tasks and make excellent ratters and rabbit catchers. They have a short, dense coat that comes in black and tan or red and tan colors.

The Lancashire Heeler is slightly rectangular in outline, being slightly longer than they are tall. They have distinguishing thumb marks on their front legs and carry their tails skyward with a bit of a curl. They are considered medium to high energy dogs, so regular exercise is important for them to stay healthy and happy.

If you’re looking for an intelligent companion who loves to work, the Lancashire Heeler might be the perfect fit for your family!
