In the UK and Ireland, the @Rnli volunteer lifeboat crews offer a round-the-clock rescue service, and their seasonal lifeguards keep watch on beachgoers. A black Labrador named Shaddah was recently saved by the gallant rescuers of the RNLI when she ran off after their ball while playing fetch at the beach and became entangled in a strong current.

Watch the video below to see this incredible (and terrifying!) rescue.

Rachael responds, “Oh my god, the thoughts that must have been running through the owners heads! Thank you for rescuing the pup!” @Mats says, “You are great! thank you for your service for every living creature!!” @Siobhancelliag adds, “You for rescuing all souls at sea.”

It’s crucial to take prompt action if your dog ever experiences this. Call for assistance right away, and if someone is close, urge them to inform the lifeguards. If you have a flotation device with you, such as a life jacket or buoy, you can use it to try to get near to your dog. But, you should never enter the current yourself because doing so could endanger both you and your dog. Attempt to call your dog by name. Your dog might be startled and perplexed. To assist them remain focused on you, call their name in a soothing, composed tone. Even if your dog appears to be fine following a situation in which their head submerges, you should check with your vet as soon as possible.

Do not allow your dog swim in regions with strong currents or hazardous waves, and always keep them on a leash while you are near the water. Always choose safety over regret!

Thank God these rescuers came to Shaddah’s aid!
