With just a small snack in hand, this little boy set out and befriended what is probably the last animal you’d expect. As much as some people may find sea creatures to be frightening, there’s no denying how fascinating they are. And this kid put on a brave face to get an up-close and personal look! 🙂

Many different stingray species can be seen swimming around in the waters surrounding Spain’s Canary Islands. And there’s a spot where steps descend into the water for the fishermen to throw back fish, and sea creatures often approach there looking for an easy meal. It was the perfect place for the boy to try this!

As the boy walks over with the snack, a giant manta ray swims right up! The beast is clearly pretty comfortable around humans because of this spot and the interactions that take place here, and it eats right out of his hand and allows the kid to pat him like a dog! The boy remained calm and collected through it all as to not spook the manta ray. He’ll never forget this!
