Only five minutes before Bonnie was scheduled to be put to death, Grandma Betty’s Animal Rescue pulled her from a nearby shelter. The sweetest dog ever, she simply needed a chance to show it, something in her large brown eyes told them, and they were dead on.
Soon after Bonnie was saved, Lili Follett volunteered to foster her and rapidly developed a deep affection for the cute pit bull.

According to Follett, “She is the sweetest, most devoted dog I’ve ever encountered.” She is very trusting and enjoys meeting new people. She will immediately place her head on your lap… She followed me around my apartment like a tiny duckling, never getting more than a few feet away no matter what I was doing! Additionally, she would come over to me each morning to get her morning pets after waiting for me to awaken. She would get even closer to me if I didn’t give her enough attention if I didn’t give her enough affection! ”
Follett set out to find Bonnie the ideal home knowing that any family would be so happy to have her. Unfortunately, she encountered a lot of mistrust and misunderstanding.

Follett noted that prior to the hat, “the majority of people would give us ugly glances and purposefully move off the path to walk around us, as opposed to just walking past us.” The majority of respondents showed signs of being tense or uneasy upon seeing her. I came to the conclusion that she would never be adopted without a significant modification after observing how people reacted to her.
Unfortunately, a lot of people couldn’t realize that Bonnie is the sweetest dog around, so Follett came up with a plan.

Follett got Bonnie a propeller hat to make her more approachable and allay people’s irrational worries. Who would fear a dog wearing a propeller hat, after all? Follett began taking Bonnie out with the hat since she enjoyed wearing it, and soon after, people’s perceptions of Bonnie changed drastically.
Follett claimed that when people see Bonnie wearing the hat, they “smile, laugh, and unquestionably try to interact with her considerably more.” Almost every time I take her for a walk, cars slow down and people shout out their windows about how adorable she is. More parents are allowing their children to play with Bonnie. A lot more people would approach us and ask to pet her, which gave me the chance to start an excellent conversation about dog fostering and adoption.
Although Bonnie is the same dog whether or not she is wearing her propeller hat, the hat encourages people to see past any false misconceptions they may have about pit bulls and instead get to know the loving dog that lies beneath.
Follet went above and beyond to make sure that Bonnie’s true self could be seen by the public. She had hoped that the propeller hat would lead her to the ideal everlasting residence, and it did.

Someone noticed Bonnie’s tale after she gained popularity on TikTok for her propeller hat and made the decision to adopt her. Back at Grandma Betty’s Animal Rescue, Bonnie is presently awaiting transport to her new residence in Virginia. Bonnie is eager to settle in with her new family and go on many walks in her new neighborhood while donning her propeller hat because it is the most perfect ending anyone could have hoped for.
