A small puppy was seen in a video being rescued from the ruins of an eastern Ukraine home that had been bombed. After the dog’s 77-year-old owner, who had luckily managed to escape the house in time, discovered his best buddy missing, emergency services lost no time in attempting to save the canine.

After the bombardment stopped, police arrived swiftly and started digging through the debris after hearing a tentative squeak from beneath a pile of stones. The men were on their knees, hands grabbing tenaciously at every stone and mound of soil in an effort to free whatever was buried beneath.

The 77-year-old had survived the shelling, but he was still without his dearest friend. The police got to work when they heard noises coming from the rubble.

A tiny black dog soon appeared, struggling for air and covered in dust. However, once free of the debris, the pup was still able to stand and, more importantly, was still alive. The police then picked it up and made an effort to remove some of the dust that had caused the black dog to turn gray.

The policeman didn’t spend any time in removing the dog from the remaining debris.

As they attempted to remove the last of the dust that had turned the black pup grey, everyone was jubilant with the discovery.

The cameraman petted the dog as the officer tenderly handed it to its waiting owner, referring to it as “крaсавиа,” meaning little beauty.

The police did not give up attempting to find the puppy and they were successful, posting the footage on their official Facebook page with the message that “every life is essential.”

The dog’s owner expressed his gratitude to the Donetsk Regional Police officers for their rapid action and assistance, adding, “Thanks to the boys for doing everything quickly and promptly here. Many thanks to them! ”

Though they emerged from the bombardment damaged and terrified, the man and the dog received medical attention, and despite the circumstances and other possible consequences, they are both now alive and well.

We continue to wish for the best result, the cessation of homicide, and the obliteration of innocent people’s life. In addition to having hope, we may continue to be human by showing love to and respect for all lives, no matter how small.
