The Old English Sheepdog is a breed with a long history that dates back centuries ago in England. Originally bred as herding dogs on farms, these shaggy dogs were used to protect livestock from predators such as wolves or foxes while driving them from one pasture to another.

As time passed, the breed became more popular among farmers and eventually made its way into households across England as beloved family pets. The breed was officially recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1888 and has since become one of the most recognizable breeds in the world today!

Today’s Old English Sheepdogs still retain many of their original traits such as intelligence, loyalty, strength and devotion to their owners – making them great companions for active families who have plenty of time to devote to training and exercising their pup!
