Charlotte was rescued from substandard living conditions and brought to The Humane Society of Sarasota County in February.

The fact that the adorable pitbull mix appeared to be ignoring the staff members astonished them. They quickly discovered that she wasn’t being impolite; rather, she has hearing difficulties.

Charlotte’s life was fortunately about to change. Someone who completely understood her circumstances would soon come into her life.

Alissa Jackson, who worked closely with Charlotte at the shelter, believes Charlotte’s position on the desk was probably an ingenious solution to her hearing loss. As long as she could sit in a high place, Charlotte didn’t need a flawless hearing.

According to Jackson, she probably preferred the desk since she is eccentric and loved being higher up to peek over the cubicle to see people coming since she couldn’t hear them.

Jackson saw to it that Charlotte’s special requirements were satisfied. She used hand gestures to facilitate teaching Charlotte orders and stunts. Charlotte eventually picked up the hand signals for ‘sit,’ ‘place,’ and ‘free’.

The humane organization received a response from a woman who was particularly eager to see Charlotte after hearing about her on a nearby radio station. Laurie Hall, who’s also having hearing difficulties, immediately understood Charlotte’s predicament. The union was made in heaven, according to the shelter employees.

According to Hall, “She is the best, most lovable, calmest, and smartest dog I have owned.”

Hall and Charlotte now spend their days walking and cuddling at home. Charlotte no longer needs to perch on tables because she is aware that her devoted mother is present at all times.
