Each day, countless dogs are placed in high-kill shelters with little hope of being adopted. For many of these animals, their future seems bleak. But for Tracy Whyatt, doing nothing wasn’t an option. Tracy, driven by her love for dogs, founded a heartwarming initiative called “Tracy’s Dogs” to give these helpless pups a second chance at life.
Teaming up with her husband Scott, the two have made it their mission to rescue dogs from overcrowded kill shelters. They pack their 32-foot trailer full of pups in need and drive them across the country, delivering the dogs to states where loving families are waiting. Thanks to their partnership with PetSmart, these families can meet their new furry companions for the first time at a designated location.
The moments that follow are truly special. As the trailer doors swing open, the new owners lay eyes on their soon-to-be pets, and the emotions run high. It’s a beautiful and tear-filled scene as these pups finally meet the humans who will love and care for them.
Since they launched Tracy’s Dogs in 2011, Tracy and Scott have helped over 3,700 dogs find forever homes! If not for their dedication, many of these dogs would not have survived. The work they do is beyond inspiring, and Tracy’s Dogs has become a lifeline for so many deserving animals.
