A video posted by @maggiemcclurkin on TikTok is the ideal example of how varied dogs can be. Though you might expect her two Golden Retrievers to behave similarly, each of them is unique, much like people.

In this instance, she needs to give medicine to both of her pets. And, well, their responses are utterly dissimilar from one another. Do any of these responses make you think of your pet?

LMAO! Although we hope our dog to be more like the original, we are aware it will never be possible. Most dogs, we’d wager, look like the second dog in this video. When something isn’t genuinely food, they somehow just know. They won’t need to take any medication, so they’ll fight you with all their might. We’d say it kind of sounds like kids!

“As soon as I saw their ears I knew which one was going to be trouble,” commented @jovetancourt91. HA! It’s so true! The one who wanted the medicine had his ears perked up the entire time. It didn’t matter what was in the owner’s hands. He was going to eat it regardless! In fact, he loved it so much that he wanted more! @silverbeauty24 added, “I love how the first dog was about to eat it out of the second dog’s mouth.” SAME!

Perhaps you should try @laurenkosler43’s advice if your dog is like the second one that refused to take the medication. What a brilliant suggestion: “Dip it in peanut butter!!!! Works every time!” That’s brilliant! You best believe we’ll be trying that next time we need to give our fur baby medicine.
