A group of friends was enjoying a pool party when they observed two dogs wandering outside the fence along the yard’s edge. Many partygoers went over to see the dogs since they appeared to want to enter. They let the dogs into the yard to hang out while they looked for their owners because one of the dogs had a tag.

While one of the dogs was a little shy when it first entered the yard, the other was determined to join
the fun.

“At that point, some of us were on the deck, some in the pool, and some out in the yard,” Jennifer Motes, one of the partygoers, said. “The golden was down to party right away and immediately started running around, wagging its tail, going up to everyone, and getting pets. The shepherd was much timider, kinda stayed in the yard for a bit, but then when she saw her friend up on the deck with us, she eventually came up there too.”

The golden retriever, eventually identified as Stoker, was having a wonderful time. He jumped right in to join the excitement, running about playing fetch, begging for food, stealing shoes, and eventually joining everyone in the water.

“Some of the people in the pool had slid the innertube raft over to the edge and Stoker climbed right on,” Motes said. “He floated around the pool, got pets and kisses, went swimming, and had a great time! The shepherd never was brave enough to go in the pool, she just walked around and watched us, let some of us pet her and she chased after Stoker.”

The other dog belonged to Stoker’s neighbor, and she and Stoker were best friends who played together all the time, according to Stoker’s father, who called while the dogs partied. The two had reportedly taken off together in search of a party, and they had undoubtedly been successful in their search.

The party hosts emphasized that the dogs are welcome to return at any point during the brief time that they were there before being picked up.

Stoker and his best friend were more than glad to fulfill their dream of having dogs at their pool party, which is the only thing that can make it better.
