Our dogs deserve more praise for how cunning and intelligent they are. They picked up on some of the words we speak, such as “outside,” “walk,” “reward,” and others, in addition to picking up new tricks. It is another matter entirely whether or not they choose to listen to part of what we have to say. LOL! Just call it selective hearing for now. One thing we can all agree on is that whenever there is food involved, hearing works!

Before they gave him a strange look, he had hardly even finished the word. They may have heard that from a mile away, for all they knew. And it was perfectly timed. They appear to have both selective hearing and laser-sharp hearing for their preferred words. Ha!
The magic word in this house is “Say WHAT!!?!!” as @moonoveryou9 correctly noted when he asked what was going through those two dogs’ minds. Let us only hope he followed through and gave them some peanut butter for listening well—okay, partially well. LOL!
