Isa, an eight-year-old girl from Brazil, went for a stroll around her neighborhood the other day. She had been requested to stop at the grocery en route to pick up some milk by her adult cousin, Grazi Do Vale Silva. But she brought something quite different home.
When Silva noticed Isa approaching, she was startled. “I was looking out the front gate when I saw her carrying something strange,” Silva said to The Dodo.
Apparently, Isa had spared a life. It turned out that a little puppy was being held in Isa’s arms. Silva was confused at first and gave an unkind response, but she later learned the truth.
Isa had been passing by when she has seen some boys kicking a puppy in the street. She made the decision to step in and save the puppy.
Silva changed his mind after hearing that. She said, “I’m delighted she saved her. Silva and Isa hurried to get the puppy’s medical attention because the mistreatment had left a wound on her head.
Since that time, the puppy, who is now known as Mel, has made a full recovery in Isa and Silva’s house. Despite the fact that they already have a number of other rescue dogs, Isa and Mel have a unique affinity.
“Mel is glued to Isa, and Isa treats her like a daughter,” Silva uttered. “The first thing she does after school is going see little Mel. They are inseparable.”
With every wag of Mel’s tiny tail, Isa sees the fruit of her open heart, which was ingrained in her during her upbringing as a sense of protectiveness and care for creatures in need. “I am proud [of Isa],” Silva added. “It is our duty to respect animals. Their love is a gift.”
